A moment from the “Insurance Profession: Past, Present and Future” conference in the Buldan Vocational School conference hall
DENİZLİ / BULDAN (5 November 2025) – Pamukkale University Buldan Vocational School held a conference titled “Insurance Profession: Past, Present and Future” for students of its Banking and Insurance Programme. One of the speakers at the well-attended event in the Buldan Vocational School Conference Hall was Ayşe İsmihan Aslan, co-founder and managing director of Sigorta Aslan.
Drawing on her entrepreneurial story and experience in the sector, Aslan explained the dynamics of working life and the key points to watch during internships to students preparing to enter the profession.
“Knowing the past helps us understand the present”
Reflecting on how insurance has changed over time and the shape it will take in the future, Aslan highlighted the opportunities the sector offers:
“Insurance is the rising value of every era — it reinvents itself as technology develops, yet never loses its core element of ‘trust’. Knowing the past helps us understand the present, and managing the present well builds the future. Never stop investing in yourselves; when you act with passion, knowledge and courage, you set the limits in this sector.”
DESAD representatives also attended
The conference was also attended by Derya Eskici Erbaş, President of the Denizli Insurance Agents Association (DESAD), and association members Duygu Akkel and Mehmet Gündüz. Students put their questions about career opportunities in the sector, practical work experience and internships directly to industry representatives.
Aiming to introduce students to the practical side of the sector alongside theory, the management of Buldan Vocational School thanked all DESAD representatives, above all Ayşe İsmihan Aslan.
